ABOUT AOIFE PoppyMoth
HI, I'm Aoife O'Leary. I'm the creator of PoppyMoth Productions.
(Aoife sounds very like "EE'fa". People always ask me about how my name is pronounced!)
I began my music career as a live and studio session singer and songwriter in my home town of Dublin, Ireland.
I loved session work, but was restless to do my own music, so I created my electronic rock band, Moth Complex, and over the next few years, co-wrote, recorded and released two albums for Moth Complex and toured across the States and in Europe. So much fun!
Around the same time, I was doing occasional work as a singer and songwriter, including as a session vocalist in LA and writing pop songs for Warner Music in Europe for some of their artists
As Moth Complex wound down, I relocated to Dublin and set up my own studio, immersed myself in the world of music production, creating custom songs for clients and movies, doing vocal and music production work and moving into the world of scoring music for film.
It didn't take long to identify a distinct need in my clients - musicians, artists, music supervisors, film producers and other music professionals - for a one stop music production company.
The people I was working and collaborating with all wanted dependable, creative, top-quality music providers, able to work fast, work to spec, clearly communicate and have the versatility to work in multiple genres.
I have always held really high standards about who I work with and I only collaborate with people who are all these things and more - highly creative individuals, deeply passionate about the music they do, clear in their communication and reliable - consummate professionals.
So I knew exactly who to turn to when I decided to create PoppyMoth Productions!
I hand-selected the PoppyMoth team. These are the people I work with on my own productions, sync and scoring.
